Tehtävän yhteenveto
We are looking for someone who wants to strengthen our women's health section with their skills, commitment and motivation for good patient care. With us, you get a varied and exciting working day with work in the outpatient clinic, surgery, maternity care and on-call duty.
We are advertising a position as a consultant, but also welcome applications from specialty registrars (LIS 2–3) who have completed training in obstetrics. One permanent 100 % position is available. Registrars who will soon become specialists can be offered a temporary position with the possibility of permanent employment once their specialist training in gynaecology is completed.
The position suits you if you enjoy a broad clinical environment, cooperate well and want to contribute to the further development of women's health care at a modern county hospital.
For candidates with a particular interest in quality improvement and medical quality, the position can be combined with the role of medically responsible consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology.
About the section
The women's health section is part of the surgical department at Kongsberg Hospital. The section is responsible for comprehensive services in obstetrics and gynaecology and follows up pregnant women, women giving birth, women who have just given birth and gynaecological patients.
We offer a broad range of diagnostics, treatment and follow-up in women's health and have a high level of activity in outpatient care, maternity care and surgical treatment. The section has a midwife-led ultrasound clinic working closely with the gynaecologists and is characterised by strong interprofessional cooperation between midwives, assistant nurses, doctors and other professional groups.
With about 420 births a year and a broad gynaecological practice, the position is particularly attractive for doctors who want to develop broad gynaecological skills.
Kongsberg Hospital is just over an hour's journey from Oslo and is one of eight clinics within Vestre Viken Helseforetak. The hospital is one of the health trust's four acute hospitals and serves the municipalities of Flesberg, Rollag, Nore og Uvdal, Kongsberg and Øvre Eiker. The hospital has long been a leader in day surgery and was the first hospital in Norway to establish such a service. Day surgery is therefore a significant part of the hospital's work.
